Pregnancy-related Musculoskeletal and Pelvic Floor Conditions

  • Pregnancy related musculoskeletal conditions (such as pelvic girdle, lower back)

  • Urinary or anal incontinence

  • Pelvic floor muscle birth preparation, including perineal massage

  • Labour preparation tool kit building

  • Pregnancy-safe exercise (whole body and pelvic floor)

Post natal support

  • Post-natal musculoskeletal conditions (such as neck / upper back pain)

  • Abdominal separation assessment and management

  • Return to activity and exercise following the birth of your baby

  • Pelvic floor rehabilitation

Bladder Symptoms

  • Urinary incontinence - leaking of urine

  • Urinary urgency

Bowel symptoms

General Musculoskeletal Pain and Dysfunction

Our physiotherapists all have a background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy! We can therefore support you in diagnosing, understanding and managing pain and dysfunction beyond the pelvic floor too. This might include:

Physiotherapy Services

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

A Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Initial Consultation includes a detailed assessment, treatment, advice and education regarding your pelvic health concern.

Treatment may be include (but is not limited to):

Education

Exercise therapy - both general and pelvic floor specific (strength, coordination, relaxation)

Breath re-training

Biofeedback training

Post-natal return to exercise screening

TENS and Electrical stimulation therapies (for conditions like bladder/bowel urgency)

Manual therapies such as massage and joint mobilisations

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

An Initial Consultation (non-pelvic floor) includes a detailed assessment, treatment, advice and education of your musculoskeletal concerns, aches and pains. Also suitable for pregnancy.

**(Does NOT include assessment of your pelvic floor.)

Treatment may include:

Manual therapy, including soft tissue massage and joint mobilisation

Education about how to manage your condition

Exercise therapy

Advice for activity modifications

Support garments

Telehealth Appointments

Telehealth appointments are online video consultations that enable you to access support, education and advice without leaving the comfort of your own home. All that is needed for a Telehealth appointment is a laptop, computer, tablet or mobile device. These appointments can also be beneficial in times when you’re not able to attend the clinic.

What you can expect during your Telehealth physiotherapy appointment:

- Thorough subjective assessment including a series of questions about your injury, condition, current concerns, past history and goals

- Devise a personalised treatment plan

- Education regarding diagnoses, your condition, self-guided treatment and self management tools

- Individualised home exercises which will be sent to you electronically following your appointment

 

NDIS

NDIS Physiotherapy services are available for clients aged 18+ who are plan-managed or self-managed with an NDIS plan that includes physiotherapy hours. Contact us to discuss your needs and to find out more.


GP Management Plan

If you are seeking services through a Medicare GP Management Plan, contact us to discuss your needs. Please note that gap fees apply.

Physiotherapy Essentials

We are a breastfeeding and family friendly clinic - we encourage you to bring your bub with you to your appointments. And, if you can’t make it to an appointment, telehealth appointments are available.

Full payment is required on the day of service for physiotherapy appointments, and at the time of booking for Initial Consultations. Tyro Health is available to process your private health insurance extras claims.
